Monterey Bay Wood Stove Change-Out program

About the Award:
Residents in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties can save money while improving the air quality in their homes and neighborhoods by changing out old wood-burning devices with cleaner alternatives. The non-EPA certified wood stove or wood insert must be replaced with a low emissions EPA certified wood, natural gas, propane, or electric stove or fireplace insert. To be eligible for the program, a homeowner or renter must use an uncertified wood stove or wood insert as a primary source of heat.

Funding Details:
- Up to $3,500 voucher for low-income residents (as designated by participation in a low-income assistance program) to install a Gas, Propane, or Electric Home Heating Device.
- Up to $3,000 voucher for low-income residents (as designated by participation in a low-income assistance program) to install an EPA-Certified Wood or Pellet Heating Device.
- Up to $1,500 voucher for all other participants that install a Gas, Propane, or Electric Home Heating Device.
- Up to $1,000 voucher for all other participants that install an EPA-Certified Wood or Pellet Heating Device.
